Black cats have been a target of fears and phobias since the beginning of time. I wonder if that is why they are usually the last color to be adopted. The animal shelters are full of black cats and dogs.

Thank you guys. I took this at one of the local shelters for cats. I was amazed at how clean and how great it smelled in there. They had about a hundred cats and kittens. Most of them were black.

Our dog is black, our daughter and hubby have a wonderful black cat, "Vinny" no need to fear, but we fear for all kinds of different reasons. This is a great shot , love what you did with it Regenia..

Love the look of this shot. I must admit we have a solid black cat, the birds and chipmunks and misc other critters, including mice, love him. He will lay under the bird feeders in the shade while the critters feed within inches of his nose. Eventually he dozes off.

Awesome shot!! It's true...my mom helps at Pet Smart to find homes for kitties, and black cats are the most difficult to place because of that superstition...so silly!!
