The impressive medieval towers of San Gimignano, a Tuscan hill town, can be seen from miles away. This beautiful historcal village was most prosperous during the 12th and 13th centuries. Today it is a major tourist destination. The tallest tower in this scene is that of Palazzo del Podesta, the one I had to combat a phobia in order to climb. The views from there were well worth the struggle.
