Lake George is a large inland lake to the north of Canberra, on the highway between the capital and Sydney. The lake is rarely seen with much more than a small amount of water, and there are various scientific theories as to why this is so, including high evaporation rates, underground aquifiers, and high winds forcing waters out of the lake.
