There was no dock, so we were transported to the community of Hoonah, Alaska via tender boats from the cruise ship. This is such a beautiful place and the people there are very friendly. I took a bus ride up into the mountains to their ZipRider zip lines that were a little over a mile long and it took about 90 seconds to get from the top to the bottom. It felt like it took longer than that to me, I was so awestruck with the beautiful landscape and water below with our cruise ship anchored in the water, I felt like a bird : ). Riding a zip line is something that I have wanted to do for a long time and now I have finally gotten to do it and I would go again if I had the opportunity!!! We got to see whale spouts and a whale tail here - wow!
On our 50th wedding anniversary trip.

What a view!!!! My goodness it is absolutely gorgeous!! And you really gave us a good perspective of the grandeur of the mountain! The zip line sounds fun....we're thinking about going on one of those, too!!
