..Ask and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full...St. John 16: 24

On Friday the thirteen,
A tiny red Squirrel
Came out of routine
And didn't need a referral.

Since it was a dreary eve,
She knew exactly why
There would be more to receive...
As others opted to stay dry.

She arrived in the rain....
But got thru' it to gain
The suet all enjoyed!!!
Ah... to not be annoyed,
Is to eat a sloppy meal
No one else would steal!

Poetry by me, AJP

Poor thing looks like it has been through the ringer and is hungry. Great capture, Andrea : )

Thank you Ann for your comment, ..these little guys start their day out early eating on
the feeder until it gets dark...It was looking fluffed out and pretty before the rain, but
she looks like a drowned rat here, soaked to the skin..They have quite an appetite for their
little size and they are very aggressive with the gray squirrels that are twice their size who
they fight with..They are very quick and feisty but they might need to be that way to stay
alive in their world as they can also be prey to weasels, hawks owls , eagles, martens
    and fishers besides others.
