Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven...For the son of man is come to save that which was lost...St. Matthew 18: 10-11

This is a picture I shot earlier this month on the evening of July 12th...My husband and I were in the process of our nightly walk when we came upon a wild turkey family trotting across the road... The mother had gone ahead to the other side where the little ones were following her, when suddenly she came dashing out of the weeds to rescue one of her babies who had gone astray from the rest...I thought it was short of incredible that she knew just how many babies she had, and she kept track of them all to know which one needed to be saved...

A baby went astray
Crying and scared;
From the rest it got away.
But knew mama cared~
To heed its needs.
The lost was found
Alone in the weeds,
Safe and sound!

    Oh how sweet! If only all people were so loving to their young as the animal kingdom is.

    A very beautiful capture of this sweet mother rounding up her chick. Birds really are the most dedicated parents, they constantly amaze me. Love it!!!

    I truly love this photo, Andrea! It is so touching and shows the bond between mother and child. The fantastic photo also reminds me of a verse from Amazing Grace......"I once was lost, but now am found. Was blind, but now I see."
