The colors are something to see, for sure. The pools can be deep and kind of funnel shaped. Creepy, if you have a deep water phobia as I do. And, of course, they smell of sulphur. Oh, and the water is HOT (as high as 250 degrees)! Actually, Yellowstone is a supervolcano that erupted the last time around 640,000 years ago. According to nationalgeographic.com, "Some parts of the ground around Yellowstone's simmering supervolcano rose by ten inches between 2004 and 2010."
