It's now one year since the alien dolls landed and "liberated" their brothers and sisters from the shelves, display cabinets, toy boxes, and musty attics of their captors. Doll Planet (as the Earth is now known) appears peaceful on the surface, as humans wander about in small groups, free, for the most part, to engage in any number of entertaining pastimes. Well-fed and clothed, no one seems to notice that the children are missing. No one except this reporter, that is. And I fear for my life were I to speak of it.
