Q: I've noticed that five of my uploads have " Hot" in front of the caption. Why are they caterogized that way ?

A: Do you know?

An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day. Quote: by Henry David Thoreau

These are the shoes that I wear when my husband and I do our power walking in the early mornings and in the evenings, that averages out to 3 miles a day....

They are made of strong leather and they have cleats on the soles. We walk on very rough terrain through a trail in our woods..also up and down our long graveled driveway..There are prickly weeds that poke up out of the mowed path on our wooded trail with dips and holes.. We also dodge spruce tree branches that stick out on one section of the narrow trail. We've been doing this since July 9th. It was overcast when I shot this picture and immediately after I got done, it started to rain..I decided to do a side view of one shoe by placing my foot on top of the iron wheel of our road grader...(You see a view of some of the flowers underneath)... I wanted to get my foot off the ground so that the sole could be seen also from this angle.

I was going to comment on the length of the cleats on the sole.......then realized they were the spokes of the wagon! Seriously, Andrea, a perfect theme shot; you are wise for wearing sturdy shoes on your power walks!!

Thank you all for the comments...Leslie, you asked about the brand of these shoes and
they are manufactured by Dr. Scholl's..I was lucky enough to buy them at a chain thrift store
called St. Vincent's De Paul's a few years ago and they looked new and hardly worn when I bought them. They are very comfortable and feel good on the feet...

Wonderful take on this theme, my friend. Looks like a sturdy and comfortable shoe. Perfect for the kind of walking you and your husband are doing. Fred and I are up to about two miles a day, plus I work out on my stationary bike.
