...He leadeth me beside the still waters...Psalm 23: 2

Crossing o'er the stream
Was Koki, at fourteen.
To get her feet wet,
Was the ultimate thrill...
Maybe she is doing it yet...
Joining other dogs who died
Beside the waters still
Leading to the other side,
Of God's holy hill....
Poetry by me, AJP

This was our dog Koki, who died on June 9, 2011 at the age of 17...I shot this picture on May 24, 2008...She was still enjoying life at 14 years old....

Thank you for the comments...Sonia, I believe these special pets who die go on to another life beyond..God would not have created them in the beginning unless there was a place for
them when their life ends...It made an impression on me when I read in Genesis how God
appointed Adam to give names to the creatures of the earth that lived during that time. For some reason I never paid attention to that verse before until it I read it a few days ago again with better understanding.. Today a rose bloomed on Koki's grave and it is very unusual for us to see roses bloom more than once during the summer...Nice to see.

Koki was such a beautiful dog and she looks very much in her element in this beautiful capture. I love that the rose bloomed on her grave today as a reminder that she lives on. An excellent entry for the theme!!

love the shot, beautiful animal! and what a nice tribute to Koki. We have an 18 year old cat and he is still in good shape, but blind.

What a sweet shot to remember Koki! I think Koki is waiting for you in her Heavenly home. My Kaiser is 14. He has cataracts and he doesn't hear well, but he still runs and plays like a pup sometimes. We are so thankful for every day we have him with us.
