I tell him of my new backcountry plan. He raises his eyebrows, slows his head down and the chew of pizza slows way down. Quiet. I'm thinking about leaving a lot behind for something different. I am like a cicada, coming out of my exoskeleton, leaving it on the wall. Got to say, I never saw a lot of it coming either. The surprise thing called life gets me every time.
