If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

I have five doggie babies in the house right now. From left to right: Arden is a dalmation mix. She has a heart of gold and is a bit afraid of things. She has spent her three years of life on a chain in someone's yard. They then tied her to a fence at a local rescue and drove off. She is an amazing girl. Next is Jelly Bean. She was on the way to the pound when I brought her home. She was heartworm positive and a runner. She is now house broken, had her heartworm treatment and will be living with me forever. Next is Phoenix. I pulled him from the pound in Macon. He is now house broken and a lover of people. Sometimes he doesn't like the littler dogs too much. After he gets his skin condition cleared up, he can be adopted. Next is Jango. He is our baby. Then comes little bit who's life was spent in a cage breeding other little babies. He was found wandering down the street. He is heartworm positive, almost toothless and old. He is being treated for the heartworms and will be living his years out with me. What can I say, I love dogs and they need me. Sadly, we have a very high kill shelter here in Macon, Georgia and politics is not changing things.
