COLLEGE FOOTBALL – NECTAR OF THE GODS!!! [For Wayne Wanamaker]
If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

[United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland; September, 1964]
I always wanted to play football for Navy, Dad's alma mater, so when I was invited by Navy to attend a football game and spend a weekend at Annapolis, I accepted!
Navy had played in the 1963 National Championship game (against the Texas Longhorns) and, although Navy lost, things were looking up for the “boys from down the crabtown on the bay.â€
And, why not? The 1963 Heisman Trophy winner, Roger Staubach (#12), was back for his senior year, and things were looking good. It was a privilege to be recruited by Navy!
I did not know that I would be meeting the team. And little did I know that Roger Staubach would one day guide the NFL Dallas Cowboys to Super Bowl victories in a career that would lead to his induction into the NFL Hall of Fame.
Be sure to check out Navy’s mascot, “Bill,†to the right of the large group shot. He was a very gnarly goat (as the song goes).
And as for college football? It starts THIS WEEKEND!!! The long wait is, at last, over . . .
As always, thanks for stopping by my page.
