...Thou crownest him with glory and honour and didst set him over the works of thy hands..Hebrews 2: 7

I scanned this picture that I shot of the Ruby-Crowned Kinglet in May of 1997 ...It had gotten in our porch and my husband had picked it up in his hand to take it outside...Earlier in the day we had gone out to eat and we saw several of these birds in a bush outside of the restaurant...We had never seen them before.

Coincidentally, after we got home we found this "Ruby" in our porch ..I managed to take one picture showing the crown on its head..We have not seen the Ruby-Crowned Kinglet again since that day... It was a special moment.

I dedicate this page to Jan Elle (Heather) who posted a beautiful picture yesterday of a Ruby-Crowned Kinglet perched on a recycle bin.....here is the link to the page to see it.

Thank you so much JanElle (Heather) for the Nomination! Greatly appreciated!

Oh my goodness, this is such a precious image, and absolutely true to size. They are so tiny they amaze me. It`s so nice to see the red crown as it is a shining feature of this beautiful little bird. An absolutely stunning capture, and a very rare one, too!! Thank you for the dedication, Andrea, it is much appreciated!

I agree with James, perfect way to show the size of the little bird. I love the red spot on his head.

Wonderful shot, Andrea! Sometimes birds from up north migrate through this area, then we never see them again. I have never seen this species before.
