...and there were stings in their tails...Revelations 9: 10
Yesterday I saw this odd looking caterpillar on the bird feeder and had never seen this species before..After doing some research I read they sting and leave puncture marks... If you see one of these guys lurking around your place, don't touch it.

Thank you all for your comments...Ann, I went to that link and the Asp Caterpillar really
sounds like one to stay away from...I never knew that some caterpillars are very dangerous!
I am just glad I didn't touch this one...I had contemplated moving it to another spot for the
photo shoot but didn't do it since I didn't know how it would react..Even though it was pretty
it looked a little feisty with the way it was arching its back -

He looks so friendly. What a fantastic macro, Andrea. What a shame he is a "biter/stinger." I have seen many of them around our yard. I'll be sure not to touch one now. Thanks for the advice!!! Very well done, Andrea!

Wow, what a beautiful capture of this sweet looking little guy.. and thanks for the warning, although I've never seen these, I'm always picking caterpillars up, but they're usually the black and yellow ones. Fabulous shot, Andrea!!
