Q: I am really into my wildlife photography but cannot afford a super zoom lens, I have a 300mm and am considering a teleconvertor. Has anybody had a experience with these and would you recommend them?

A: Do you know?

China 1985, in a little village a few kilometers (but about 2 hours bumpy dirt road) outside Guangzhou. This image was captured with an old Canon 35mm and Kodakchrome 64 slide film. Within a few seconds, a swarm of people gathered around us... Moment very vivid in my memory: a child gently stretched his tiny arm towards me and staring with amazed piercing dark eyes, touched my blonde hair.
