These hawks are the least flighty of any I have encountered and this one seemed to enjoy posing for a bit then flying off to the next power pole to pose again. They are passing through on their migration from their nesting areas in the far north.. I spotted three of them today.

Thank you, Andrea for your kind comments, they are much appreciated! The great thing about the shots I got of this beauty is that I was actually geared up for trumpeter swans. That didn`t work out so well, but as so often happens, another bird filled in for them.. This encounter was very special because it did seem comfortable and gave me shots unlike any I`ve gotten before. They have a long journey ahead of them and need to feed and rest so I quickly got my shots and left ..
