The Chapel of the Holy Cross was designed by Marguerite Brunswig Staude, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, who contacted him to gain his assistance to build her dream cathedral.
A large cross appears to rise skyward from the rocks to support the building's structure, and is the most revered landmark in Sedona, Arizona.
In 1957, it was given the Award of Honor from the American Institute of Architects.
