A viceroy butterfly sits on the firecracker bush in our butterfly garden. They look very much like a monarch. The theory is that, because monarchs are poisonous to birds (who seem to know this), the viceroy mimics the monarch to fool the birds. It is for survival.

    You are the queen of butterfly shutterbugs. I had read about this butterfly. It is just beautiful. We just don't get many butterflies here. I guess it's too windy.
