When I reached the Greenbrier County line I found the road had not been plowed. About 3 miles further on I came up on a Corrections Department van and a WV State Police SUV that had been blocked by fallen trees. They helped me get turned around and I took this photo when I got back to the plowed surface. For a while I wasn't sure I was going to get back without some help. Taken 30 Oct. 2012, during the blizzard brought on by Hurricane Sandy.

Well, Fred, I guess we won't joke anymore about the money we squandered buying 4WD vehicles! Glad you made it home, Fred.

I came through Beckley on Monday about noon. It was starting to snow then. I grew up in Greenbrier County in Rainelle. It is beautiful there when it snows, but can be hard to get around. Glad to see you made it.

It is frightening when you can't see the pavement. This shot is of beautiful danger.
