Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

The picture is crystal clear but veiled, you can see a foot and something else in the foreground, the tail is half cut off. Could you do it better, however the photo I like the expression friendly and lively dog and his pink headband.

cute shot. I think the camera picked up the knee, but the shot is cool.

I like the comments. I like the people who made them. It's a superb picture. I like the way you've treated it, all hazy and accidental. What does one do with a dog picture, after all? Exactly this, at its very best, and especially the knee. Sometimes we're tempted to second-guess ourselves as to how we treated an image. I trust completely that you (all of you) considered everything and posted the image you wanted to create.
