A juvenile male pine grosbeak gave a nice pose as he waited for his turn at the feeder. He will be a rosy red colour by next summer. These are exceptionally pleasant visitors to have at the feeders as they are well-mannered with the smallers birds, but since they have a tendency to fly into windows I move their feeders away from the house onto the snow for their safety..
