When I took this picture I didn't realize the butterfly had a problem. I was just so happy it made it from egg to butterfly! Hours later upon further study, I noticed the feeding tube, or probiscus, was wrongly stuck to the shell of the chrysalis. Very sad for me, since I watch the development of these Gulf Fritillary Butterflies and anticipate the winged flight in the end, which really is the beginning again!
