If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

This is Sampson. He was hit by a car on Log Cabin Drive in Macon, Georgia. People were just driving around him when a nice couple stopped and drug him out of the road. They then walked into Petsmart and approached me about him. I went and got him and took him to my vet. He was in shock, afraid, and in horrible pain. When we took his xrays, we discovered he had been shot too. He suffered radial nerve damage in his front leg as well. He was starving and had no muscle mass at all. Sampson was touch and go at first. We were amazed he survived his first night. Sampson was a fighter though and we decided we were going to fight with him. Sampson is still struggling with the front leg but he is now a very healthy one year old with a love of life. He was adopted by a wonderful family last Wednesday.
I have been picking up stray dogs and crawling under cars to get animals that have been hit since I was a little girl. I never could understand how someone could hit one and then drive away. I know somepeople are souless but some simply can not afford the vett bills for what they consider a stray.
Sampson is the reason that Southwood Animal Hospital and I teamed up to start Critical Care for Animal Angels. We take in dogs and cats that are homeless and in need of critical care. We work off of donations and after they are better, we find them the loving homes they deserve.
Sampson loves life!! He is wide open all the time and now can pull down anyone that tries to walk him. That is not a muzzle on him. It is a lead halter. He behaves when he wears it. : )
