Fear not little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom...St. Luke 12: 32

The Pine Siskins
And goldfinch species
Act almost like kins
Tho' not of same feather,
They still are good friends.
In winter they flock together
To endure the cold weather.
Poetry by me, AJP

A few years ago I bought a Kaufman Field Guide of North America book where I learned that the Pine Siskin and the American goldfinch flock together in the winter and they have similar traits. It was also interesting to read about the Siskins various calls including a harsh rising "zzshrreees" Another sound they make is a clear "tweee," and a dry "cutcutcut." It made it more fascinating for me when I saw this Pine Siskin come to our window feeder a few days ago and also today to read about their habits.

This is an esp. good POV and handsome shot. I'm glad you identified this species. I always thought they were finches or sparrows.
