Manila, Philippines. 1961.
The graphic image used with
larger image of General Douglas MacArthur escorted by Philippine President Carlos P. Garcia. While I snapped the closeup with a 200 mm. lens mounted on my Pentax
camera at its widest aperture f.3.5,, I first shot the approach
close to the open shade close to Jones Bridge with a 50 mm.
Zeiss f.1.5 Sonnar at f.4 on my Contax III A camera. It had incredibly sharp detail. It would seem as if half the population of the city lined the streets to greet him. Still remembered for his masterly military triumphs, he was more revered in both Japan and The Philippines than in The US. It took four hours for me to get home, which was only five miles away.

Paperini Renato gave props (10 Dec 2012):
Historical document really interesting. Macarthur is one of the key players of the second world war.
