Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Psalms 37: 3-7

Two blue jays wait

But knew ahead

If we are late,

They'd still be fed.

With trust they stood

In line for food...

Poetry by me, AJP

I was a little bit later than usual this morning to refill the feeder and these feathered friends were waiting patiently for their sunflower seeds. Usually we see them waiting for a squirrel to finish eating. I fed them right after I shot this picture. .Both bird feeders are refilled more than once during the day and they keep us busy, but the wild song birds are worth their weight in gold for the pleasure and the pictures they allow us as humans to take of them. First of all we must gain their trust.

This was shot through the two window panes plus we weatherized the storm window with clear plastic for the winter...The sun was shining brightly and reflective besides so it was a little difficult to focus, but thankfully I got one picture decent enough to post for today.

Beautiful capture of these two jays together. They just love those seeds and it`s well worth the wait for them, I`m sure. They look quite content as they contemplate lunch :)

All that extra layering makes a nice filter!! I feel like you about spending too much on bird seed, but I don't have dogs and cats - wild birds are my pets. I also have noticed that many birds are courteous to each other waiting in a queue for the feeder. It's almost like planes at the airport waiting in line to take off!

I know how you feel about the birds. We have been feeding them since the snowstorm of 1993 here in Tn. They are a joy to watch. This pair of jays are beauties!

I agree with Don, the extra layers that you shoot through seem to make an excellent filter! The colors and focus in this shot is fantastic. Love the composition, narrative and poem : )
