I took this photo while walking along a small street in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. This graphitti depicts a red balloon flying free towards the sky. I relate this to my own childhood experience, which is similar to every child's, since it is very usual for balloons to escape from a child's hand. The carvings on the wall also serve as a metaphor to the vulnerability of children well-being worldwide, given the severe social issues affecting childhood in the 21st century. This graphitti is actually pretty eroded now, almost invisible, but by the time the photo was taken it was quite vivid.
