Not all tomatoes are equal, this I know. Being a Food Network devotee I thought it odd most chefs recommended, if not preferred, San Marzano tomatoes. I had to see what all the fuss was about so I purchased a can and made my own marinara sauce. Much to my family's surprise they are truly superior to your everyday canned tomato...they are, in fact, Italy in a can!
