Every Winter, a massive flock of Sandhill Cranes migrate through this area and stop off to rest for a few days on their way from Florida to Michigan. The viewing platforms will not allow the viewer to get very good photos unless you have at least a 400mm lens. This one was taken with a 300mm on a very cloudy day.

Love the Sandhill Cranes, we get them here on their migrations either coming or going, maybe both. You got an excellent photo with the 300mm lens!

It really shows the massive flocks with your 300mm lens...and sometimes it is nice to also see the scenery around them when there are so many, that would get cut off with a bigger zoom...Nicely done.
