An aging Gordie Howe, photographed on the bench while playing with the Houston Aeros at 49.
Howe, often referred to as Mr. Hockey is one of the greatest to have ever played the game. He had a long career with the NHL Detroit Red Wings but also came out of retirement and played for the Houston Aeros and New England Whalers of the WHA with his two sons. At the age of 51, he remarkably returned to the NHL for one season with the Hartford Whalers. Check him out on Wikipedia for details of his incredible career. Shot for Canadian Press.

Mr. Hockey had an impressive career by the way it sounds and it is nice that he continued it at an older age.

I am reading a book about ESPN and they talk about Mr. Hockey and his 50th birthday as a player. That says it all.
