My friend Robyn is a Civil War reenactor, portraying a "soiled dove." This shoot was in-costume at Monocacy National Battlefield in our hometown of Frederick, MD. The Battle of Monocacy was referred to as "the battle that saved Washington,' because although it was a loss for the Union Army, it slowed the Confederate Army down long enough for Union reinforcements to arrive in DC to defend the capital city.
