...the robe all of blue...Exodus 28: 31

The Indigo bunting, a migratory bird who arrives usually in late spring or early summer did not make its appearance last year. .We don't see an abundance of them but hopefully at least the male and its mate will show up again this spring. The males are a very vibrant Indigo blue and the females are not as colorful with brown and white undertones. This little guy had just arrived that spring day in May of 2008 when I shot this picture and he was resting on the olive tree branch with a wistful look on its face...perhaps waiting for a squirrel to get off the feeder.

Thank you so much Heather (Jan Elle) for nominating this photo..Very much appreciated!

A handsome little fellow indeed! A perfect choice for the azure theme! I don't think we get those in this part of the country.

Thank you for your comments and faves...I am getting anxious for spring when the colorful
migratory birds arrive such as the indigo Buntings, and Northern Orioles. I would love to
capture a bunting and an oriole together...with their blues and oranges.
