I scanned this print of an auction sale crowd that took place on May 13th, 1990, The auctioneer
happened to see me with my Chinon film camera and asked me if I would shoot pictures for him that day which I did and this was one of the pictures .The older gentleman whose farm and possessions were auctioned off unfortunately passed away at the rest home where he moved to within three weeks after his place was sold. I noticed after I shot the picture that the farm owner was walking with the crowd. He had the two toned jacket with red bandana around his neck. He was standing a little bent over near the bottom step of the staircase on the left hand side. I remember sitting on a hill over- looking this crowd when I shot the picture,

Yes, it was a sad ending but I remember how pleased he was the day of his auction that
there was a big crowd that came to his sale...After he passed away his family were so happy
that I shot the pictures that they ordered prints also and he was shown the pictures before
his death...Thanks for the comment Donald. -

A great pov on an interesting crowd. Auctions like this can be difficult for those who must leave their old way of life behind, he obviously found a positive in the large turnout. A great capture and no doubt a treasure to his family.
