If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven and in the earth. Psalms 113: 6
My original plan was to post the auctioneer at his job for this theme who asked me if I would shoot pictures of the auction that he was performing that day on May 13, 1990..I showed the crowd that came to the sale in the previous picture.
I decided to use this image of the elderly gentleman by the name of Richard who was the owner of the farm that was auctioned off..He was driving up the hillside of his farm on his last round up with one of his tractors to be auctioned off. You see the farm behind him where he did a life time of work. A few weeks later he passed away at the rest home where he moved to after his farm was sold.
Of all of the pictures that I shot that day, which was a new experience for me to shoot an auction sale for an auctioneer.... this was my favorite for its simplicity and for portraying the humble man who was not pretentious but was satisfied with his life on earth and his surroundings.
