And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left...Isaiah 30: 21

I guess you can say I am qualified to be called a genuine fanatic!!!..I have walked over 600 miles since July of 2012 ...As of this morning I weigh 121 lbs and have lost 24 lbs in 6 months.. I am wearing a size 8 in clothing now.

The weather has been brutal this month especially... Sometimes the wind chill has been 40 below 0 and we still have ice on the ground with deep snow in places........My husband who joins me on our walks has been very supportive and he has lost 18 lbs himself.

It was so cold out late this afternoon that my cameras battery got stubborn and had a hard time getting a self portrait to take, but this is one of the few that cooperated when I wasn't expecting it:) I didn't have to worry about getting run over by a car as our long driveway was drifted in from wind gusts on top of the hill blowing across the field which made walking a little more difficult on our driveway and on our trail through the woods.

It is important to dress warmly for the cold weather...and I usually wear a snowmobile suit over jeans and warm sweater, insulated vest, long johns, two pairs of warm socks, snowmobile boots, two pairs of gloves, knit hat that ties under a hooded jacket and a cold weather mask...I feel like a polar bear from the North Pole but at least I won't freeze to death:)

A real refugee from the Arctic!! I'm impressed with your zeal (and your picture). How do you move with that much clothing on?

Thank you all for your comments and faves...Donald, it is not easy to move, dressed in so
many layers but at least I can move at my age and that's what's stay healthy
and not get lame from inactivity...Sometimes I have to force myself to get out there in the
cold weather...Yes, I suppose you could say it is amusing Michelle but I can laugh at myself
and I am not calling someone else a fanatic and get in trouble for it...

This photo is perfect for the theme : ). I admire you so much for sticking with your walking no matter what the weather. It must take a long time to put that many layers of clothes on!

Great picture and you should be entirely proud of what you have achieved Andrea, Bravo my friend!

That`s a great shot and entry for the theme, Andrea! I can attest to what a difference layering of clothes makes in cold weather, especially for the distance you walk each day. I water and feed horses in all kinds of weather, and if I didn`t wear layers in winter I would perish. And, by the way...... Congratulations on achieving 200 Hot Images!! That`s an awesome achievement.

Thank you so much ...I can well imagine how cold it gets in Canada where you live, Heather
and you are a trooper ...Winter is beautiful but it can also be deadly if not dressed warmly.
Thank you also for noticing that I have received 200 Hot ratings...I feel very humbled by that
as I am still learning but I am inspired by the many wonderful photographers on the JPG site.

this is a great shot, Andrea! i can't even imagine dressing like that to go for a walk. but then our winter days are in the 50s or 60s and nights rarely getting down to freezing. i'm so cold when i walk in the evenings at 50 degrees....i'd never leave the fireplace if it was that cold here.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments...I smile at the determination I had and should get back on track again through the snow which we had more of over night. However since I am older it seems like winters and springs are even colder and I am waiting for warmer weather before I get back on the program gradually for doing as much walking again....I am less of a fanatic now this many years later...
