Sankar and myself visited this loving aging couple, from his wife's (Ranji) side.
They live in a simple, traditional (one space) village house.
The wife is Hindu and her partner Muslim.
They have a few cats that like to roam the top of the mud walls, just under the floating coconut ceiling and rice straw roof.
He is the daily cook of their meals
She gifted me a coin she had that some relative brought back from the Arab Gulf countries.
We only stayed for about an hour, but the tranquility, the energy of these people and their simple but colorful, lit and ventilated home with nature within and all around...
Now that I got to write about coconuts in India, I stumbled upon this photo and couldn't browse away. That energy filled me again, expanded and touched whatever it is that triggers tears of relief, of joy.
