Q: I am really into my wildlife photography but cannot afford a super zoom lens, I have a 300mm and am considering a teleconvertor. Has anybody had a experience with these and would you recommend them?

A: Do you know?

An aphid giving birth.

OK...I know this will only appeal to real "bug" fanatics. The rest of you will be, like, "Ew! Barbara, why the hell did you post this? What WERE you thinking?" And I respect that.

As most of you know, the vast majority of insects are egg layers. Aphids are among the very few who bear live young, just like us mammals.

Isn't that special?

Congrats! You're like the Bug Proffessor and Doctor rolled into one. I'm in awe of your ability to capture such amazing macros.

Thanks, JamesHarmon. I think it may have a lot to do with the fact that I have been extremely nearsighted since childhood. The lenses in my eyes are shaped like magnifying glasses and, without my glasses, I can't see clearly past about 6" from my face. With my macro work, I simply present the world the way I have seen it my entire life...
