[Alton, Illinois; April 2012]
I shot this photo during the “Great St. Louis Meet-up” of 2012, hosted by Shirley and Melissa Valencia and Diana Anderson.
It strikes me that the placement of these two billboards side-by-side has special meaning. Is it a "sign" of the "end-times"? Time will tell . . .
The 98¢ “Chubby Burger” was awesome.
Alton, Illinois is an ancient Mark Twain-type village lying on the east bank of the Mighty Mississippi. For a town so small, it played an important role in the American Civil War.
Alton is better remembered today as the home of Robert Wadlow, the tallest man in recorded world history.
As always, thanks for stopping by!
