[The “Great St. Louis Meet-Up;” On the Banks of the Mississippi River, Alton, Illinois, April, 2012]

Yes, I know my biographical sketch says that I am a “point and shoot amateur.” But, when I had trouble adjusting my camera last year during the St. Louis meet-up, I took some random shots to see whether I could bring an image into focus.

Little did I realize that my experimentation would yield the photo you see here. It made me realize that, far from being an amateur, I was now an “artiste”!

Many of you will want to prop this photo (and me)! To save you time, I have developed the list (in my best "JPG-speak"), below. Simply go down the list, select ALL of the numbers that apply, and then enter those numbers the way you would enter props. Remember: You don’t have to write any words! The numbers are all you need. (However, feel free to add additional praise!!!)

1. Your photo is a masterpiece!

2. It is a classic!

3. It is a dream!

4. You are a poet!

5. You inspire me!

6. Impressionism!

7. Expressionism!

8. Modern Art!

9. Contemporary Art!

10. Painterly!

11. Clarity!

12. Light!

13. Color!

14. Palette!

15. Texture!

16. Frame!

17. Composition!

18. DOF!

19. POV!

20. So evocative!

21. So provocative!

22. It tells a story!

23. Thanks for the memories!

24. Art is everywhere!

25. Very noir! (Would love to see it in b/w!)

26. File for copyright protection now!

27. Submit to “Gourmet Dining”!

28. This is . . . digital? The “film” elitists are going to be so jealous!

29. Sensational! Wow! Awesome!

30. My Hasselblad can’t do this!!!!!

[As always, thanks for stopping by!]

I have looked at your photos with a professional eye this really good quality, do not do the numbers, I prefer to comment on it. Of course, the definition is really good considering the shutter speed 1/40 sec at f / 4. With such a long time you need a tripod to get good results if done manually the result is remarkable both for clarity and for the indirect light. Almost everything is in focus. I like the presence of the camera.

After enlarging this photo 10 times, I see that the shirt says 'I went camping and burned my wiener. Sun Valley, Idaho'. #2 again!!!! And #21. And #22. And #23. And #31----EPIC meet-up!!

You`ve become quite the artiste, Richard! You`ve been dallying around with manual settings behind our backs, and this is proof positive.. I`m both Astonished! and Delighted! The only number I can`t list is 30, so I`ll leave it at that. Seriously, it`s a great fun capture and you made viewing it even more enjoyable. Keep on shooting!!
