He that received went and digged in the earth..St. Matthew 25: 18

A blue jay on earth
Found why it was worth
Digging neath' the snow...
To himself, he thought
The seeds buried below
For which he sought
If not hidden by snow...
Would bring him value
In the kingdom he knew..

Poetry by me, AJP

This was the scene we woke up to early this morning.... it had snowed overnight. We have more snow predicted before the day is over and another storm coming on Monday.

These are two pictures that I shot in sequence of this same blue jay who on the left side was contemplating the idea of digging under the snow for his breakfast.of sunflower seeds. You can see the wheels turning in his head before he took action and on the right side he got to it..Of course the feeder was cleared off soon after I shot this picture and dry seeds were delivered to him (minus the snowy white tablecloth:)

I also love the way that you combined the two shots! The birds know to go to your feeders to get food from in the winter. You take such good care of them : )
