Like your pov of "an eye for an eye" (the peacock feather "eye").
Reminds me of staying in a Rajasthani village on the border with Pakistan where wild peacocks are native, yet the fallen feathers villagers collect are hidden tucked on the inside of the straw roofs of their mud huts. Because these birds are protected authorities relate slaughtering to people whom feathers are found with them. That's what I was told by my village friends.

Love this. I love peacock feathers and this is so great with the little boy hiding behind them.
