Q: how good are tokina lenses?

A: Do you know?

Our wood fence is 7' tall and I cannot see over it to take photos. I wanted a deck built so I could get on it and see over the fence, but in light of all our home improvements lately, I should not add to the expense. So, Ed cut a hole in one board for me to see out - LOL : ). It isn't big enough for my lens though so he is going to cut another one that my lens can fit through. We have lots of beautiful birds out there at times, to bad they were not there when I peeked through the hole with my lens : ) Of course, I can go through the gate to get photos but the birds usually fly off when they see the gate opening.

I like the framing, Ann. Using that hole is like having a blind like the big time photographers use.

I like the effect! It wouldn't be nearly as interesting if the lens fit in the hole....but I'm sure you would get better shots of the birds. However, I think this made a very interesting shot!

Are they songbirds that you are referring to that eat on your feeders that you plan to take pictures of through the hole in the fence? What a neat idea and how nice of Ed to cut the holes and to make a bigger one to fit your camera lens....I too am looking forward to seeing the results of the bird hole photography...

I kept thinking of this OLD song when I saw this shot: "You aught to see what I saw through the old knot hole."

This is a natural frame for you, hope that you are able to get some birds thru this porthole to nature!
