In all things show thyself a pattern of good works...showing, gravity and sincerity..Titus 2: 7

When turned around
to upside down
I could swear
It was a brown bear,
Standing in the trunk
Of the old apple tree
Far better to see
In all sincerity,
Than a rabid skunk!
Poetry by me, AJP

I shot this fun picture outside this morning. of the trunk base of the.apple tree in our yard; It had been raining before this, which saturated the colors.Turning the picture in a different direction brought out the pattern of the brown bear..

Thank you for your comments...I am so glad you can spot the bear also ...It is such fun to
train the eye to see patterns in trees...I think I developed that interest from my late father who liked to carve things from wood ..His older brother Elmer collected driftwood that had a wide variety of shapes and forms..He had a showcase of his extensive collection and one time was interviewed by a reporter on TV...Both my father and his brother are gone now but I love that they both shared a vision for seeing the unusual in nature.

I too love to look for images in trees, clouds, grains of wood, even my new granite counter tops! The granite has lots of little animals, it is so fun to look for them : ). I do see the brown bear! Excellent entry.

Delightful entry. I have that same interest. Love finding patterns and shapes in nature, especially in wood, clouds, and water reflections.
