Summertime fun in the city. Chicago's Millennium Park is so kid friendly, even at night. The creators obviously understood that kids love breaking the rules... especially the one about not getting wet.
We were in the city for my birthday last year and it was a steamy couple of days. So the crowd at Millennium was no surprise... kinda' like the inmates were out on pass.
With such a slow shutter speed plus the movement, I figured everything would be one big blur, so first I was surprised. Then I was delighted. The aperture was wide open so I kicked up the ISO to grab some more light. And, I knew I would be snapping some night shots of Buckingham Fountain, so I had the tripod. All obstacles considered, I ended up with some pretty unique night shots of my kinda' town.
To see what I saw, check it out in lightbox.
Many thanks to JPG and Lensbaby for acknowledging my work in this way. Actually, it is my first award but hopefully not the last. I am truly honored.
Also, a big thanks to Donna Mullins for the generous spotlight. Big sappy grin here.
