If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

The Lord hath prepared His throne in the heavens and His kingdom ruleth over all..Psalms 103:19
Mother played many years
at funerals and weddings
Some events brought blessings
Of joy to daughters or for sons...
While others shed their tears
For losing dear loved ones...
The memories that still lingers
Are not only how Mom played
The piano and church organs...
But when she clasped her fingers
In both of her strong hands
and knelt humbly as she prayed.
Mothers teach us alone
To reach e'en higher
As far as the throne,
The Lord has prepared.
Angels sing God's choir,
From pearly gates above...
And is faithfully shared...
Through wings of love.
Poetry by me, AJP
I thought of my late mother who passed away at 102 years old on October 25, 2011, when I wrote these simple words in my poetry within 5 minutes this afternoon in memory of her for Mother's Day. This is a picture I shot of her in 2008 when she was still living at her apartment. ( I added two more verses to my poetry later this afternoon.) I like to remember my mother when she was actively involved in the things that she liked to do and she had purpose for waking up to greet each day...I thank her for being a strong influence throughout my life and for her love.
Happy Mother's Day on Sunday and have a wonderful weekend!
