A family friend recently asked me to shoot some senior portraits of her son. I've never done anything like that but reluctantly agreed. It was a very positive experience.

I managed to capture a few good images and learned a lot about planning ahead, being systematic and deliberate during the shooting process and what to watch for during the shoot. Two things I'll work to do better next time are watching for shadows and making sure to leave room to crop in post. I was glancing at the images to make sure the expressions looked good, but neglected to pay enough attention to some harsh shadows in a few compositions. One of my very favorite shots is hindered because I cut off part of the subject's foot (on a full-body shot).

Overall it was a great experience. Here's one of the shots I especially like.
