Of the many villages Fred and I explored in Italy the Tuscan village of Cortona was by far the steepest. The slope of this street is typical.

WOW!!! Looks so typically Mediterranean. We saw streets like that on Corfu. Isn't Cortona where "Under the Tuscan Sun" was about?

Thanks everyone. Yes, Don. Frances Mayes, author of "Under the Tuscan Sun" has a home in Cortona, plus part of the movie based on that book was filmed there.

The car contrasts sharply with the scenario, but after a first impact unpleasant I have to agree that there is just as colorful note.

Oh MY!! You would have to have really good brakes to part up at the top! Kids would love it, to roll over and over down....although it would be a bit hard on the body!

Great shot. I'd be sick by the time I got out of the car....but it would be worth it!!

Wouldn't stairs help with climbing the hill? I wonder how many burn out clutches and brakes on that hill. It really is beautiful, and very impressive.
