Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

The Alps are definitely beautiful!

The mountains are awesome of course, but everything is worth having a look at. The villages and their old buildings made of stone and wood are an important element of the landscape and they are a silent testimony of the ancient times’ life… Nowadays, even though these old farms and houses are equipped with everything one needs for a modern way of living, they still look as they did two centuries ago. Hence, many of them are still used for the same purpose as they were in the past.

This picture was taken at Poingt Ravier, a small hamlet situated of the heights of Valloire, in the Department of Savoy.
