Iceland is definitely a paradise for photographers. With a population of about 320,000 souls and a total area of 103,000 square kilometers, nature is totally preserved and still as wild as it was at the end of ice age. Geologically very active with many active volcanoes, the Icelandic landscape was carved over time by the lava that flowed from many volcanic eruptions. Hence, due to its proximity with Greenland and the Arctic Circle, glaciers and icebergs can be observed throughout the year. All these elements, along with the midnight sun during the summer, make Iceland a surreal place where photographers from all around the world gather, hoping to take epic shots…

The coastal landscapes of Iceland are epic too! Black volcanic sand beaches contrast with high cliffs and glaciers and the shore constantly changes from one place to another. This picture was taken at the tip of Snaefellsnes Peninsula that is situated in Western Iceland.
